What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? I love almost everything about our home, but the eight foot picture window in our combined living / kitchen / dining room is really special - it gives a lot of light and a lovely view of Twin Peaks and Noe Valley in San Francisco.
I also love that we cook, work, read, entertain, watch movies and just hang out in one room - it's efficient and concise, and I can't imagine going back to separate rooms for everything.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? We moved from a larger apartment so we needed to reconsider a lot of our furnishings and "stuff." It takes discipline and commitment to eliminate what you don't really need, so that was hard but rewarding. It's so nice to only have what you use. It also helped that we have a lot of cabinet space (which we didn't before) since we do cook quite a bit and have the resulting large number of pots, pans and appliances.
