What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? The apartment building I live in was built in 1925 and my favorite element would have to be the architectual details of this period: tray ceilings, picture rail molding, original bathroom tile and fixtures, subway tile in kitchen (painted over unfortunately).

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? The biggest challenges furnishing my apartment were money and size. I basically moved in a one bedroom's worth of mish-mashed furniture into one room. The apartment is furnished with random hand-me-down's, thrifted finds, Ikea and Craigslist pieces. Do to the "dollhouse" cuteness of the apartment the furniture manages to look make-do but over time I plan to switch out pieces in order to evolve and simplify the overall aesthetic.
