What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? Finding affordable pieces. Moving from a tiny bachelor apartment, I needed to purchase everything new except my mattress. I ended up shopping a lot at Ikea. I used the Ikea Bjursta sideboard as my entertainment unit - at $279 (CDN) it was an affordable option where I could hide away all of the electronic components, DVD's, CD's etc.

Yay!!! Toronto!!!
This is my new favorite of all time. Love your place!
Robin's egg blue is so everywhere right now.
It's beauuutiful. I might be changing my design plan.
I love the kitchen and the bedroom but I think you've carried the blue and brown theme to far in the living room. Its a cute place though.
stylin'
Love the bedroom!
That is a beautiful bedroom. Well done!
I must know where those sheets are from!
LOVE that bedding. Where did you get it?
Agreed, absolutely love the duvet cover. Where did you find it?
Stunning! I love that the items don't scream 'Ikea'. You've integrated them in to your decor wonderfully.
Is this a condo that you own or an apartment?
yay canada!
... this place looks SO sarah richardson.
very cute.
Yay Toronto! It feels weird that we are an "international" group huh?
Love the kitchen.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments - it's an honour just to be nominated!!
luckypeach: The blue shade on the living room wall is Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Grey.
chex, emmabemma, laurel8: The bedding is Carlingdale - Sienna Collection which I found at Quilts Etc.
Jasmine: I own the condo - I'm no longer a property virgin, this is my first place.
prairie girl: "International" makes Canada sound so exotic, don't you think?
marcinvancouver now lives in Toronto, and he'd hate to be up against this beautiful entry!
Yay Canada!
Good luck Pamela!
Love It. My favorite so far.
it's a little matchy-matchy... works in the bedroom very nicely, though
lovely lighting in the kitchen
Nicely done Pamela! Love the (Noguchi style) coffee table as well as the dining one-may I ask where they are from?
Love the wallpaper behind the bed. Gorgeous and soothing.
Hi Mz. F!
The coffee table is from Kinetic Home - the base was bright red when I bought it at a sample sale. I just sanded it down and painted it the same colour as the wall.
Love the bedroom.
i love your color scheme...in fact i am in the process of using chocolate brown and blue...was looking for a new rug....where did you buy the rug in your kitchen? thanks!
Thumbs up! Clean look with my favorite colors.
Love your house, but please change that blue wannabe form the wall!!! you risk to have some bird hitting it if you leave the window open... the rest it's nice. (i love the bedroom's wall and the bed sheets!!!)
Thumbs up if you change the wall color...
Mz. F - Forgot to mention that the glass top dining table is from West Elm.
Nerd2003 - The rug is from Wal-Mart ;-)
Very nice and I like what you are doing here. Love the brass lamp that swings out into the middle of the living room. Is that vintage?
Would be perfect for the post yesterday over on the NY Apartment therapy where they featured an apt carved out of an old brownstone that the owners paired w/ modern furnishings in their living room.
thanks for that...forgot to mention , i love the bedroom colors specially the sheets ....
Hi ciddyguy,
The lamp is actually a brushed steel or aluminum which I found in Toronto at Urban Essential on King Street East.

Very nice. I love the colour palete and how they link the different rooms together. It's doesn't feel too small, either. My only complaint is the sofa, which I think doesn't match the sophistication of rest of the space & elements. Go here too late to vote, but nice effort!
Really? I love that sofa.
I also love the little fabric bucket I spy in the living room - is that Jenna Rose?
I am not a big fan of wallpaper, but I like the muted pattern of yours and I especially like the way it plays off the bed-linens. They have a similar pattern, but they don't look too matchy. You have a good eye for patterns.
I don't think I'd have the restraint to only buy things in blue and brown, but I like the way you've tied everything together.
Hi ange_lune, good eye - that is a Jenna Rose! Her pieces are so unique, you can spot them right away!
Why are we able to vote for this one again? The deadline should have passed?
Oooh Pamela, I love it. The colour is perfect. As you can see I spelled colour with a "U", so I am a fellow Torontoian!!!Can you tell me what the paint colour is!!!Where do you shop for your vintage finds? Queen W/E?Cheers!
Hi her_royal_gr8ness,
The blue colour on the living room wall is Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Grey. The bathroom colour is Sherwin Williams Tidewater. The other living room wall (not pictured) and the kitchen are Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige.
The vintage walnut table beside the couch was made by my father as a high school shop class project. I am always browsing at Value Village for great deals on vintage items!!

LOVE the bathroom sink/shelf unit. Where did you get it?
Hi Justiney,
The bathroom sink came with the condo - it's one of the reasons I bought this unit. It's a solid Corian countertop and sink.
i love the bathroom sink too!!! :D
and your kitchen is lovely, esp the lighting :D
