Who Lives Here: Joaquin + 1 Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina Size: 807 square feet
What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The apartment overlooks a great indoor courtyard where I have my garden. I also love my bathroom, the u-glass makes it very luminous.
Give Joaquin a THUMBS UP if you think this home belongs in the finals!

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? One of the biggest challenges we faced was designing the bedroom area, we had to do a mezzanine to place our bedroom there. It finally went well, because we manage to leave the double-height ceiling for the living area, and the kitchen and dining area remained under the mezzanine.

I'm Wowed...
Me too. What a lovely and unique home.
Gorgeous! The indoor courtyard is a dream with an outdoor shower - jealous. Love your home you've done a wonderful job!
Is that a ghost in your third picture?
You cheeky Argentinians. Pretty great, I absolutely love it all, especially that sick little back yard. I tried to shower outside here in New York once, didn't end well.
Que bueno Joaquín, es la primera vez que veo una vivienda argentina en este sitio, ¿en qué zona tenés esta hermosa propiedad?
Translation:
How nice, Joaquin, this is the first time I have seen an Argentinian residence in this location (city?). In what zone (neighborhood?) do you have this handsome/pretty property?
Not bad for High School Spanish! :)
Love this, my flavor to a "T" what ever that means. Nice work!
love the courtyard!!!!!!
Gorgeous, funky and unique. A
Love it, down to tiny detail. The decal in the shower, and perfect lounge chairs, and the red dark brown aqua glass combo in the kitchen, and framed art' placement, emphasizing the luxurious height of your ground floor.
Excellent, Joaquin!
I never understand the 1 thing. Does that mean that they're closeted and don't want the fact that they live with their partner (who I assume has a name) published online? Or is it just that they live with a pet (in which case 1 is not 1, but rather 1 PET)? Either way, it's sad -- that even though they're featured on a prominent design website, they can't include their life partners, or that they consider a dog/cat as a 1.
My keyboard doesn't make the plus-sign for some reason....
Love the building. Love the decals in the bathroom and the matching chandelier shades. A very stylish and interesting space. Thanks for sharing!
This might be my favorite one yet - mainly for the outdoor shower...and the fact that it's in BA. I love that city.
Patrick, I think in this context sitio=website :)
Love your patio area. The rest is not really my taste, but I think you've done some very creative things with this space.
Very nice! Love the flavor.
Ah, See, gracias!!
Apparently my Spanish predates the Internet. Scary! :)
But since we already have "chick on toilet" as part of this contest, why oh why no shot of "Argentinian gent in outdoor shower"????
P(too) -- que listo eres!!! y sucio tambien!
Por fin una casa de Buenos Aires en el Small Cool Contest!
Viva!!!
Sorry, I had a moment of euphoria.
Thumbs up for my fellow citizen Joaquín. I may add that this kind of houses are the typical "casas chorizo", built around 1900-1950. They are basically a sucession of rooms facing a small yard. With beautiful facades, high ceilings and strong construction, are just perfect for contemporary renovations, like this one.

I love this place! Of course, I love Buenos Aires, too! (Part of the holy trinity: Paris, Barcelona and BA!)
I demand a house tour of this -- lots of angles and view I must see -- por favor!
Hello Buenos Aires, one of my favorite places.
I would expect no less this is a fun apartment. Those lights on the stairwell behind the bar must be very groovy at night.
Ah, these south amercians are such stylish devils!
I'm loving those armchairs in the living room, the chunky outdoor set, the retro cocktail cabinet with the Algue curtain, the red plastic dining chairs, and pretty much everything in the bathroom (especially the groovy graphic on the screen). This place has the vibe of a true party house. Needless to say, thumbs up.
Unbelievable.
Modern creativity.
@Judithbjini: pets are described as such, so the plus-1 is another person. I don't like it either. Call 'em SOMETHING. A genderless name (Pat, Danny, Shannon, Kelly, 1,000 other options), anything. People should be acknowledged. Partners are inportent. Men should be shown in showers. (Er, got carried away there. PTOO's fault, he es muy bad influence.)
Nice. Really love the fireplace surround, the outdoor shower and the outdoor table.
Maybe the "plus-1" savors his or her privacy.
Very chic place. Nice, seemingly nude, blur in the kitchen.
loves it!!
genios!!!!!! me copaaaaaaa
quedo buenisimo el departamento!!!!!!
I'm not quite sure what just happened with that bathroom, but I'm totally digging it.
1 may just want to be left out of this contest. If Joaquin didn't feel the need to acknowledge this person, he wouldn't have said anything at all about them. For all we know, he's talking about a houseplant. It's just a little apartment showing, and personal relationships don't necessarily need to have anything to do with it. It's not like you have to worry about addressing holiday cards to them now or anything, so I guess you don't need to worry about who lives here. Well, unless they're hiding from local law enforcement, but just couldn't resist showing off their home... ;)
Anyway, great property! I LOVE the tile in the bathroom and with the outdoor shower!
