What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The actual breakdown of the kitchen is very good. By turning the table, we can extend the entire table into the livingroom, making room for a huge dinner party.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? After stripping the whole apartment from base to top, turning two small rooms to one big bedroom, was the biggest challenge, and hardest. Everything was done by ourselves, so down went a lot of blood, sweat and many many tears. We focused on using the best materials for the floors and kitchen. When finished, the easy part was decorating!

Fresh and sexy, I love it.
Seems very spare - but I like what you've created with the kitchen and bath - I'm sure the rest of the place has much the same attention to detail.
I'm drooling, that's how much I love it.
Allan - where did you get your coffee table? I love it! (And everything else too!)
Love the bleached floors, the LIGHT, the pops of bright green in the living room... I doubt I'd have the discipline to live this spare, but in my dreams I could! Beautiful!
I love the table wedged into the space between the full wall and the partial one of the kitchen. It probably takes some getting used to, not being able to walk around it, but it is a cool space-saving idea.
Allan, you got it right. Perfection.
Love the green accents in the livingroom, and the serene bedroom, and the daylight in all of the rooms!
Oh you Europeans do minimalism like nobody's business!
Love the kitchen - what's the backsplash made of?
I drooled on my keyboard.
Beautiful except the backsplash in the second pic hurt my eyes for whatever reason.
Cool Cat!
pragtfult :)
Wonderful, and that Maximus Lexi is one sexy cat!
I love the bedroom and bathroom. But the living room looks like its glowing a sickly green.
Thanks for comments...
@Abp: the coffeetable is from a Scandinavia interior shop, Ilva.
@jac7890: the backsplash is just mosaic (5x5cm) in cream color all over the wall. The picture do not capture it perfect, it looks amazing and no stripes!
Allan
alan...simply wonderful!
Det er fantastisk!
Fantastic!! I love the way the kitchen table fits into that little niche behind your countertop.
Really lovely. I adore the shelves in the nook by the sofa and your color choices! You have a great collection of vases. Can you tell me who makes the white vases in your bathroom?
Stunning. I love the pop of color used in the pillows to match what's on the book case. Very stylish.
Really love this --- clean, great light, wonderful pops of color and although spare, still lived-in and not cold.
First, I love your cat, your place is pretty cool too. The pops of green are lovely. Good luck.
a little to minimal to be a happy home but love the green.
I like this a lot. Were you tempted to look for Kjaerholm for a table? I'm trying to go lower, but it's a great refined look nonetheless.
@peggy: the vases is the Swing vases from Normann Copenhagen, you can get them at Scandinavian Design Center.
@minimalist1: would love some good old danish design, such as Kjaerholm, but it is extremely expensive here, and you would never find it at a fleemarket.
gorgeous surfaces. love love love that bathroom vanity!
Your cat coordinates well with your colours ;-)
I love the pop of green in the lounge room.
It also seems very bright, which must be a challenge for someone in Scandanavia in the winter time?
Pretty!
lovely. and thanks for great pictures that actually showcase the home, rather than random gatherings of tchotchkes.
Thank you. It is very pricey here as well.
How do northern Europeans do minimalism so well? Where is all your stuff? I know we in the US probably have too much junk, but surely there must be closets full of puffy winter jackets, scarves, bulky snow boots, and gloves for these Danes, no?
(The apartment is beautiful, by the way. I just can't imagine how to do it.)
Your place is lovely but I WANT TO STEAL YOUR CAT KTHNX.
I like your kitchen. =)
kellyk, I lived in Denmark for a year. It doesn't snow all that much but it does rain nearly every day, at least for a little while. The rain is rarely heavy, though! Lots of Danes just go out and about without umbrellas, I think because they'd just be opening and closing them constantly.
Taking shoes off at the door is common in Denmark and most of the homes I have been in had entryway storage dedicated to shoes (and of course other outerwear). Lots of people keep a pair of traditional wood-sole clogs at the back door for trips out to the garden, taking trash out, etc.
Some Danes also just wear heavy Scandinavian wool sweaters instead of jackets in the winter. They are warm to about 30-40 degrees F. if it's not terribly windy, and they're comfortable indoors, too.
Lovely lovely apartment! Where is this couch from?
