What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? My favorite element is the sunlight. I have 7 large windows in my tiny one bedroom apartment, which is hard to come by! My bedroom faces the block's many back yards, overlooking peach, mulberry, and various flowering trees. During the summer months, my apartment feels more a treehouse.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? Buying the things you want is easy, but finding them in your price range is the challenge! I stalk craigslist, outdoor flea markets, sample sales, and antique stores to get my wares. Plus, the thrill of the hunt makes the purchase more satisfying!

I love your headboard. My brother had one similar to that, slightly more grey. I am sure it is sitting in storage, but you make me want to "borrow" it.
My favorite.
I LOVE that little footstool with the flowers in it! How cute!
Cute. I'm still not really like the vertical bookshelves, but I think your place is adorable. Love the little ottoman with the flowers inside.
Nice, airy place! Can you tell us about the stencils / wall paper in your living room and kitchen?
ooohhh lovely
Really cute. Can I ask where the orange coffee table is from?
Kattykat: you can get the wall bands I used here: http://2modern.com/designer/Twenty2/Twenty2-Gala-Wallbands
the photo with the cat is like the chat noir poster turned interior design. i love it!
That is where I remember this image!!! It is so the Chat Noir poster! :)
Wow! That is some color! I love the way you left the kitchen white, it balances out with your living room. Good eye.
I, instead, love the vertical book shelf.
But I can't remember the designer. name, please?
It ain't half bad at all --very thoughtfully done and clutter to a minimum. Well done.
Bright! Happy! :0)
This seems like the kind of place your friends would love to visit. It's so happy! Love, love, love your color choices. You did a really nice job. I wish I knew the true color of your bedroom. In photo 2, seen from the living room, it looks like a bright green. In photo 5, it looks more like a muted sage. Both are actually nice, but I'm still curious. Did you do all brights, or did you keep the bedroom muted? The idea of the serene, muted bedroom in this very bright space does appeal to me.
so bright and healthy!
this would be a great place to walk into or wake up to everyday. coming in from a stressful work day? brilliant :)
love Love LOVE the bedroom.
the colors are exactly what i would want to see in a sunny bedroom.
also completely smitten with the tufted headboard. I've been thinking of trying my hand at a DIY tufted headboard, and this will definitely be my inspiration.
also...did you spray paint the pillar in the kitchen yourself, use wallpaper? i love the colors.
Creative License: The green paint is Gliddon's "Enchanted Forest". You can find it at the Home Depot paint department.
The bedroom is all one shade of green The color warms up on a sunny afternoon, and is dark and calming at night. It's much more versatile that I thought!
barbara.agatha: The bookshelf was bought second hand from a neighbor, so I'm unclear on the origin. I believe it's Bruno Rainaldi: http://www.dwr.com/product/storage/shelving-bookcases/bookcases/sapien-bookcase-short.do?sortby=ourPicks

A very fun & cheerful place. I like it!
I love this space...it really makes me wish I were single living in my own apartment again. lol ;-)
I was wondering where I can find a desk like that in the second picture?
Where is the desk from in the second picture? I love all the colors here...it makes me want to be single again and in my own place....lol
way too many rugs going on in this place for me.
Who says you can't wear sunglasses indoors..
*LOVE it*
I love the comforter-- could you share the source?
Heela: The desk is from CB2, but no longer in their catalog. They are floating around on Craigslist, though.
Erin85: The comforter is by Dwell Studio. The print is from five years ago, and no longer available. Their new stuff is pretty nice as well.
You get a thumbs up from me because I love your cat! I lost my black cat last month and I'm jealous you still have your witch kitty. Long may he, or she, live!
Your apartment is really beautiful, just the right amount of modern mixed with Mid-C. Your bedroom is so nice with the muted blues. You did a really excellent job but I voted for you based on the cat. A black cat always gets my vote!
Thanks to all my cat admirers. His name is Mister Jinks, and I failed to mention that he shares the apartment with me!
Love the sunshine rooms; all your stuff (is that a gorilla guarding the wine rake?); and the serene bedroom. Stellar cat!! Celia...you don’t have to be ashamed...we know Mister Jinks lets you live with him! ( : p
Oops! Meant “wine rack”. Corking the bottle and going to bed!
Nef4tt: good eye! There is a vintage wax gorilla guarding my wine stash.
