Who Lives Here: Kim & Scott Location: Chicago, Illinois Size: 650 square feet
What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? There's no denying how much we love the windows in our home. The almost 9' wide window in the living room was the first thing that made us seriously consider purchasing our now home. With all the light, we like to keep the curtains easy breezy, with our "heaviest" curtains being in the main room (just for a touch of drama). Even still, they're light silk in a pale gold, which we like to think adds some ooh-la-la. Nothing is more comforting than Saturday morning coffee, snuggled up on the couch under that enormous window.

Sprout Side Table
This makes me happy.
I really LOVE this place. I thought I had voted for this one already. Must have been a house tour.
well done. i like this rather a lot. it's a surprising amount of space in 650 square feet.
my favorite part is the green! wonderful color :D
Loved the house tour, I seem to recall.
Great paint job!
I liked the living room in the first pic until I realized that the green wall behind the TV was within the same room...
...at least I think it is - the floorplan doesn't seem to match up with the photos.
The colors are so random - Accent walls gone berzerk - This is not a coherent space, and as a result the apartment appears choppy...
Is that a curtain covering the kitchen bar? Why?
the bedroom is going in my inspiration file. love it!
Loving that couch! Mind sharing where it's from?
Thanks, E
Hi Eileen, it's a Room & Board "Lorrie" style sofa that we scored on craigslist!
Hey can you tell me where you got that blue and white striped rug? I love!!!! I also love your home THANKS
I'd also like to know if that green wall is opposite the couch/big wall of windows, and therefore perpendicular and adjacent to the light blue wall?
Aileen, that blue rug is made from FLOR Fedora-style tiles. I cut each one in half and created a striped pattern.
And to apf - yes, the green wall is in the same room as the very light blue walls.
Fun. Love the play with colour all around. The blue in the living area is so pretty. What's the colour?
Where did the orange elephant on the living room end table come from?
I love it! I want it!
(I collect elephants.)
I love the rug, and the framed phrase above the bed -- I have always known it was you. How heart-melting.
I love the shade of green that you've chosen for the accent wall. It's gorgeous.
Bikes on the ceiling give this place a thumbs up.
What beautiful, cheerful colors!
Can you please share the source for the fantastic red spotlight lamp in the living room?
Thanks for the kind words everyone! There's an item-by-item, color-by-color source list on our blog, Yellow Brick Home. Here's the link to the list:
