Who Lives Here: Liz + dog Pepper Location: SoHo — NYC Size: 250 square feet
What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The large windows. They face a tree-lined street, which is great for people watching for my dog and me.
Give Liz a THUMBS UP if you think this home belongs in the finals!

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? No storage! I created a large closet in the living room because I had only one tiny closet. I also have shelving and other storage solutions throughout the apartment. Everything has a place and if it doesn't, it goes!

Ercol Bar Stool
Cute Dog :)
I keep seeing this table and love it. Where do I find it?
You've employed a great trick for NYC (and other places with windows with brick wall, Honeymooner's views.) Putting up open shelves in the window so the "light" still comes in but you also have storage. We did this in our last place and several neighbors noticed and did it too!
I love the restraint throughout this calm space!
Your studio has character, the only thing is I am not convinced with that sofa on the floor.
I really love the utilization of space but the sofa on the floor isn't doing it for me either. But whoever lives there must enjoy it. The colors in the apartment are great too!
Great use of space! I'm sure the sofa on the floor is a temporary necessity, not a design choice.
absolutely love!! excellent use of space, and beautiful sanded door. and pepper looks too cute !! bellissima, bellissima !!!!
love the shelves in front of the window... it actually makes the uninspiring view seem intentional... now i want one!
i love that you painted the top of that ikea table. is that chalk paint?
pepper, you are aucky dog. Simple, yet well thoougt out the best I've seen in this contest.
Eeeek! There's a mouse on your bed!!!
sorry pepper i made a typo, it's lucky dog, not aucky dog.
@drettagliata - are you looking at the black ones with the books, or the white ones by the kitchen table?

Looks like the Ikea Docksta table with a painted top. I have heard it is very wobbly though.
I prefer the original saarinen but it is very pricey.
Thanks, bemyescape! The top threw me off.
love the black door and the vintage decoration in your room.
That last photo is amazing. I think it would have been the best one to start with, but you maybe don't get to pick. Thanks for sharing your space.
why is the "couch" on the floor?
Of course I give you a thumbs up! Anybody that can fit a whole apartment in a space smaller than my bedroom deserves kudos from me! PS I have four cats bigger that your housemate!
I like the bedside light. And the shelves in the window, I've been thinking about doing something like that in my kitchen as well. Looks great!
The bedroom photo is pure style. Beautiful.
Is the front door pretty much stripped? Hard to tell from that pic.
That table is awesome and fits perfectly.
Pepper is awesome.
I actually really like this one...
There's not a lot of items in the apartment, which is for me, soothing to see.
it looks bigger than 250 square ft
I am not sure why the futon on the floor bugs me because what is wrong with sitting on the floor but for some reason it does.
