What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? We love how it is one space with no walls dividing it in rooms. It enables the light from the floor to ceiling windows to brighten the whole place and it is also great to be able to cook and visit while our friends can sit in the living room and enjoy a glass of wine!

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? One of the biggest challenges in furnishing was making everything look good together in one room. We got rid of some things so it wasn't too cluttered and just because certain things didn't fit. I like to flip through some books I have on small spaces for inspiration.

No bedroom shot? :(
I'd like to see the bathroom...
Not sure if that is a concrete wall in the back drop, but whatever it is, along with the floor to ceilings windows out to the veranda is working really well. The space itself, is pretty bad ass. This space by definition is small cool, however other than photo 1, the crooked, poor angle photos are yet again, a shame.
Loving the light, high ceilings and outdoor space! The sprinkle of plants and flowers liven the space.
Thumbs up!
For those of you wondering, the bedroom is a loft sitting above the kitchen/bar, visible in two of the photos and shown in the floorplan. Thanks.
I love that rug! Anyone know what it's made from/where I can get it?
It is Jute. I got it on Craig's list. Not sure what stores sell them but it shouln't be hard to find i don't think.
Love the creative use of the desk under the stairs. The stacking tables in the "living room" are great.
Really like the layout of the kitchen for such a small space.
Your lighting ideas really leads themselves to a very warm & cozy atmosphere in the evening.
I love your sofa...an your little dog too! Also lovin' the concrete patio - seems like a nice little oasis.
The kitchen is really nice, but I really hate that couch.
It's a great space with lots of potential - but everything in there is so itsy-bitsy - nothing stands up to the scale of the space other than the sofa.
love the outdoor space and your high ceilings.
i like everything but the leather couch! even tho it looks super comfy, it's just not working for me. still a thumbs up tho!
I like the colors in this one. Are the shades on the oil lamp amber or red, I wonder? They are just beautiful with the different blue shades.
A couch that looks that comfortable and isn't ugly gets a pass in my book. Comfortable couches are proof that God loves us and wants to be happy. You naysayers are crazy!
whereabouts in Vancouver??
Cambie and Broadway.
from an admirer in new westminster: go vancouver, go!!!!!!!
The couch is fabulous. I ask you: where would you rather spend an evening watching a movie? On a flat, designer-perfect MCM couch, or on this one? Which is nice to look at as well, with all that texture and comfort? I love the column, too, as well as the desk under the stairs. It's not easy to work with these loft type spaces, and managing to designate discrete areas with their own personality is an accomplishment.
The only thing that doesn't work for me here is the table and chairs, which seem to hail from another dimension altogether-- very "countryish" and a bit jarring. But I'm voting thumbs up, because of the overall, and because of hometown bias, as well. :)
Ooh I love this. Sorry I didn't get a chance to give it a thumbs up or I would have! Love the sofa and all the plants especially. Very warm and cozy while still being super cool, modern, and chic. Great mix!
this pretty place deserves better furniture.
I don't understand why people don't like the sofa. I love it!
I do think the kitchen table looks out of place, though. Overall, I really like this space.
Any suggestions for a dining table? I am on a tight budget! Maybe a round tulip style table???
