What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The three large floor to ceiling front windows provide excellent Pacific Coast lighting and a cool sea breeze. I loved decorating them with grommet drapes in white to keep the sunlight in and provide privacy at night.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? It was a challenge creating a comfortable and inviting space in such small quarters with existing furniture I had. I implemented furnishings and accessories that wouldn’t overpower the rooms and strived to keep a relaxed space for guests. I added an armless chair in living room so it wouldn’t look as heavy and a shorter coffee table to create more visual space.

Sprout Side Table
I really like that rug you have in the livingroom. Where did you find it?
i love that glass-topped side table.
i don't get why so many people leave their artwork leaning against the wall! such a conscious style choice that i just don't get.
I love your space! It looks great. It seems comfortable and classic.
I have two questions- where is your white desk chair from? and where are your outdoor planters from?
You've pretty much got the right elements, but it's just not coming together:
Mismatched draperies in the living room, a large mirror crammed into a small corner, poor furniture arrangement, the TV looks like it's trying to jump off the media cabinet, a lamp hidden behind the office cabinet, and too many radios next to the bed...
With a little rearranging, you could have a splendid place - It's just not there yet.
Really like it although not thinking I really like the mirror location behind the couch. Maybe it looks better in person.
Beautiful place! I love the colors, warmth, drapes, rug, and that damn console the TV is on... just perfect:)
You poor thing, you're probably breaking your neck trying to watch tv from that sofa. What you need to do is this, if I may be so bold, put your sofa in front of the bay window with a nice narrow sofa table behind, then move slipper chair, with its table and lamp, under the window where the sofa was. Eh? Eh? Nice job making it girly without draping everything in flower prints, good stuff, kudos.
I love all of the cool toned colors in the house, and we're nearly neighbors (hello from MB!!).
I would like to know the source for your patio chair. I've been looking for something exactly like that.
Love the computer armoire! Where is it from?
Hi,
Thanks for the votes and thoughtful feedback!
Ill answer your questions here:
Rug- Its an Angela Adams rug and its from a DWR floor sale.
white chair- I got it from the annual Modernica summer warehouse sale, its a vintage fiberglass shell chair.
Planters - they are fiberglass bullet planters, remakes of the originals - Hiphaven.com
Patio chair- its a hand me down
Computer armoire - its from holdeverything store, but its closed now.
Perhaps just a wee bit smaller mirror behind the couch. Not a ton smaller -- I see what you're going for, and dig it for the light, certainly, but a teeny bit more breathing room would make it look less cramped and more intentional, while still covering plenty of area.
I love the sticker in your bedroom. Where did you buy it?
The dark color on then bedroom wall works so well! It looks very upscale.
LOVE your space! I have the little bird pillow from target too! Really loving your coffee table. Where is it from???
Hi JoyAmsterdam and weaver2009
-I painted the dark wall in bedroom to make the space feel deeper since the room is small in size. I bought the wall decal from etsy.com, they have a large selection.
Wow, a real work of art!
Dig your spacial solutions. Nice job Melissa.
