Small Cool 2010: Sarah's Sectioned Space

Tiny Division #7

Who Lives Here: Sarah Location: Gramercy, NYC Size: 488 square feet

What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? My favorite part of the apartment is the sawhorse glass worktable. I love the initial sleek and stylish look and the convenience of having a beautiful workspace. It can be easily converted into a dining table for a dinner party, which makes this piece an essential in my apartment.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? The biggest challenge was to take a space essentially the size of a hotel room and provide a sleeping area, a living area and a dining area that were functional. The hardest thing to do was to section the apartment mentally and visually into areas that were both attractive and convenient . To bring it all together required a lot of legwork and going from store to store to see what was on the market. Above all, the most important resource was my measuring tape!
