What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? The biggest challenge I've faced is finding the line between sancuary full of interesting treasures and cluttered small apartment. With a little imagination and some creative furniture placement I believe I've done just that. I'm always on the look-out for special items to inhance my environment but I have to be VERY choosey simply because of my limited space. Everything I own was bought second hand, found or created (sans the Ikea couch :) The key to creating a comfortable, functional 550 square foot home is to know when to stop!

White Enamel Flatwa...
Rich, warm, character-city!
Nice job.
(AT: It says Thumbs-Ups are closed.)
love this! So cozy, so much texture. I want to touch all of it!
That artwork above the bed is absolutely beautiful. Original?
Ooh, my favourite so far, absolutely beautiful!
That door... and one glass missing, awww!
Thank you for showing me this and Good Luck! :)
I am no fan of purple and yet I love her sofa.
I second cardboardbox, this is my favorite so far! I like the reds and greens, especially with the eggplant couch, and the adventurous feel of your accessories.
Definitely one of my favourites! The purple, reds, greens and browns work great together. Also like the artwork over the bed. I would move in ;)
Inviting and cozy. The outdated elements (appliances, toilet, TV...) add to the space's character and actually enhance its appeal.
WoW...how fun! thanks for shareing!
I love this place! I also love that you didn't "clear the decks" for the photos - it looks like a place you really live in, with all your stuff. And it's awesome that you love your yellow toilet and sink. Definite thumbs up.
Love your space.
Your kitchen looks so efficient, mine is about that size but NOT efficient.
Great job!
wonderful! i would feel very welcome and cozy here. can i also say, i'm jealous of your yellow toilet!
Well, I like the green glass in the door... but why is it leaning against the wall? I don't understand this place at all.
The bedding is gorgeous, and I adore the yellow sink and toilet. Thumbs up!
love the place. hate the bedding..eewww.
Yeah for a Hometown entrant! I'll submit my place in the small catagory if I ever get all the drywall dust cleaned up.
I love this. I also live in a 550 sq ft house and this looks properly lived in and loved. While many of the homes here look amazing in the photo's they look styled and not lived in. Here we can imagine it on messy days and still see bundles of character. Fab fab fab.
I love the living room tv unit although is that a huge flat screen tv on the kitchen wall? I think not because there is another tv in the living room but can't make out what it is?
I also love the kitchen.
I love the old appliances and fixtures. I get tired of seeing people take out outdated fixtures that still work.
I love that yellow bathroom!
Another Sacramentan! :) That's a very dramatic art piece above your bed. It's a little creepy, but at the same time I can't pull my eyes away from it.
Is that a free standing door in your living room with the green fabric? That's kinda cool...
Your couch is so yummy :) I want to nap in it. Does IKEA offer velvet upholstery or did you have it upholstered? Can you share some info if you have a moment? Style of couch, etc? Thanks!
Such a cute spot. Please, tell us about the art above your bed - she is amazing!!!
Thanks for all the comments! It IS original art - by me :) I found that round canvas at a thrift store! My bedroom doubles as my art studio. Some day I'll have more space...I hope.
I looked for the couch style on the IKEA website but couldn't find it - it's not velvet but it is ridiculously comfortable!
I'm a total homebody so this place it’s very lived in. There are so many fun things that you can't see in the pictures but you get the over all feel.
Yes I tried to vote but I could not
I really like all the individual elements of this place, but it somehow seems kind of cluttered to me. It could just be the picture angles, but the place really looks a lot smaller than 550sf.
Gotta say though, your artwork is fantastic!
