What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? I really love the bed/office area. I'm happy I invested in the Ikea Malm bed-desk four years ago because they don't make it anymore and it pretty much saves my life everyday. I think it's probably the area that is most complete and pulled together and that I use most often, so based on it's functionality it's by far my favorite element. Oh and working from home, I get to lie in bed all day which is pretty glorious.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? I couldn't really change much, being a renter and moving from apartments. I really had to edit everything, especially since this move was a downsize. I had an idea of where everything would go before I moved in but with that not really working I had to design on the fly while the movers did the heavy lifting, which actually was an amazing combination. As far as resources Ikea is always a go to, but I like to change out the hardware or add hooks and things to make it less "Ikea". Also Anthropologie sales and antique malls and flee markets were a massive help on my small budget, but most of all I scoured my Mom's house for anything not nailed down. I think that really helped me to pull it all together.

Pillows galore in the bedroom!
What is that little love seat/tiny daybed/part chaise lounge thing? I love it. Can you name your source?
Nice...like the bed desk even though I'm not a fan of ikea.
That black leather/chrome chair needs a backrest :p
Must. Have. Skull. Pillow!!! Where did you find it???
Unique choices, but looks messy.
Where is that skull pillow from?!??
is the modern blue rocking chair from overstock?
This doesn't look messy at all. I think it's really cute!
really like this place. that bed desk is a neat idea.
it isn't messy: the photo feels crowded due to the angle and the crowd of small furnishings in the middle of the room.
Can you tell me what the table model is?
Love love love LOVE this!
I love this. It's highly personal and full of objects, but not at all cramped or cluttered. It really feels like a home.
Hey Everyone. Thanks so much for the wonderful comments and here's my resource:. The skull pillow is Z Gallery. The Bed Table, they don't make anymore except in red for a twin bed, but I was at CB2 the other day and they are making a version of it now. The blue chair is Herman Miller and it's the Eames Molded Plastic Rocker-RAR . The black chrome chair is a copy of a Le Corbusier chair with the back cushion removed. I hope that helps.

I like the room, but is that bed desk practical?
Do u have to move it every night?
I cannot imagine being able to sleep with it in place. It would be kicked over in an instant.
The bed desk is actually on wheels so it rolls back and forth. I just push it to the end of the bed at night and it's out of the way.
I loooove that bed desk! I don't even work in bed, but I'd be enticed if I had that desk!
I also love the contemplated-casual feel of your bedroom-living space. It really feels lived-in and comfortable, but stylish.
AHHH I've been wanting to do this with my Fresca table! YAy!
What kind of bedding is that? It looks so crisp, but not overly feminine. :)
Long table over the bed is too hospital for me!
I enjoy that you left space for a mini bar in the corner, love it!
where did you get your bedding? I have something similar that needs to be replaced!
Where-ever did you find that adorable cat pillow on your eames rocking chair?? It's the cutest thing ever! I hope you aren't one of those cat ladies...
Sadly, I missed the 'thumbs up' window but I love love love. I may steal the bed desk idea.
beautiful
i really like this apartment. Where did you get the pot holder over the stove?
Charming, cozy, cute-- I love it! Your apartment looks so warm and lived in! I'm not crazy about the rugs in the entrance. I have one suggestion, in the bathroom you should consider hanging a little ledge under bathroom mirror, to place your decorations and tooth brush. This would clear up the clutter on your sink a little: http://www.move.com/home-garden/Images/Organ30Bath11_tcm12-4523.jpg.
