Who Lives Here: Stephanie Location: Kitchener, Ontario, Canada Size: 905 square feet
What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The terrific red wallpaper I had installed in the small foyer. Since it's such a small space but the ceilings are 15' high, it really makes the space feel rich. Best thing I've done so far!

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? Storage space was the biggest problem. I installed built-ins everywhere...bookcase...kitchen cabinet extensions with stainless counter and customized walk in closet. I probably have more space than in my previous 1000 square foot home with basement. It's great to be organized.

White Enamel Four-P...
Good thing Canadian entries are not lumped into "North America."
Cuz this would kick some US butt.
It's pretty, well organized, and looks like a very peaceful home.
I really like this. I love that the walls are mostly neutral and the colors that come from the furnishings are mature, mostly understated, with pops here and there.
It's a very nice place - I the furniture choices and the builtins are rather tasteful...
...except that the living room cabinetry completely overwhelms that wee fireplace.
This is my favorite entry thus far!
Every time I see an International Entry, I get a little scared. I've held onto my Number 1 spot for a while now. You, Stephanie, could take it away!
Beautiful space. You've taken what appears to be a fairly conventional loft-style condo and given it such personality. The built-ins are great, nice restrained use of colour, and I love the way you've displayed your stuff on the shelves in the living room. Lovely.
In the interest of playing fair, I'll thumbs-up you!
Even if you crush me in the end. ;)
Nice apartment I could live here. Nice choice with everything. That wallcovering looks amazing!
great place! hello from bc!
Nice moves: annexing that long wall for the extra kitchen built-ins, and half the developer's living room space for that great kitchen/dining space!
I agree, bepsf- that cabinetry overwhelms the fireplace. I wasn't even sure what it was at first. I do think it's a great layout of the space. Love the huge windows.
thoughtfully and well done! though i wish people were paying more attention to AT's recommendation that whole-space photos are more useful than vignettes. wish we could see the kitchen, the other bedroom, bathroom, or a wider view of your wallpapered entry.
I'm guessing that when the fireplace is FULL OF FLAMES it takes its spotlight back.
Love the built-in storage!
patrick (the other one) - Bravo.
Patrick--
When I come to NYC next time, we'll have to get together for cocktails and get lit!
;-)
Deal! It would be so very "My Dinner With Andre"!
I really love this. Although I agree that the living room built-ins overwhelm the space (I didn't realize the fireplace was in fact a fireplace, either), I love them. They're absolutely gorgeous. This apartment is really tastefully done.
I still believe that 900 sqft is not small for one person, goodness sake to have a spare bedroom!
I agree about the fireplace feature wall.
The fireplace looks squished in the middle, and it always bugs me when the cabinets block a part of the window.. but I'm probably being a bit anal here, because this place is very well done.
Great job, nice colors.
I agree with what the others have said, nice cabinetry but the fireplace gets lost. I didn't even notice the fireplace at first, as I'd been too busy looking at the wall panel above it.
Your home has a nice stylish feel so it gets a thumbs up from me.
Kaufman Lofts FTW! I love it and i'm so glad to see a building I recognize!
I agree! Well said, patrick(the other one)!
We are not tasteless, whatever Americans may think about us Canucks, haha!!
nice - but fireplace looks silly between the bookcases or built-ins or whatever they are
I love it ... wish I lived there!
tell us about the design on the wall behind the bed!
The design is a wall decal from a company in Vancouver called Surface Collective...
Thanks for the feedback about the fireplace....I see what you mean. Actually when you are in the space it's quite prominent and the balance seems just right...
It does take centre stage when it's lit!
Your bedroom is dreeeeeeeamy.
Wallpaper source please! I love it!

oh wow! I love the living room and built-ins, they're fantastic. And your bedroom is so peacefully welcoming. That wall decal is lovely.
The highlight, though, has to be your bank of windows. What a joy it must be to entertain at your amazing dining area with that light, and the view. (or, well, I'm assuming it looks alright, and it probably does at least at night when you've got street lights glowing everywhere ;) )
Well hello neighbour...
(Stephanie is my next door neighbour and you could just imagine my surprise and joy upon discovering that her gorgeous home is on AT)
I think this place is very well done, and that stunning wallpaper is the first thing you notice in the entry way...it lets you know that the rest of the place is going to be gorgeous as well!
Well done Stephanie...Thumbs up for sure!
Hi Kinga....
I tried to represent Kitchener well....unfortunately I wasn't able to overtake some other Canadians including the Winnipegians!!
Thanks for the nice comments...you and Nathan will have to come over for a drink sometime soon!
Steph
