Who Lives Here: Tanille, her husband, 2 dogs and Joey the cat Location: Reno, Nevada Size: 360 square feet
What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home? The swirl in the ceiling wired for LED lights that my husband designed & built. Also, the cool and calming colors that we used throughout that make our 1959 trailer feel like an urban home.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? Last year we moved from our 1500 square foot house into our 360 square foot trailer. The trailer was unlivable at the time and needed to be completely gutted and rebuilt. Fortunately we took on this challenge so we were able to re-create a floor plan that worked for us. When deciding what to keep for the move we used 3 hard fast, well known rules - do we love it? do we use it? and do we find it beautiful? The end result was practically a quarter of what we owned at the time. I have been an apartment therapy junkie for the last 2 years and was itching to take on the challenge of a small space. The end result has been the most beautiful, functional space we have ever owned.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Thank you for entering. I'm so happy to see someone show an attainable dream. Beautiful job.
The interior is jaw dropping- cannot fathom how spacious it looks with so little sq ft! Would love to see one pic of exterior out of curiosity...
I really liked this place. Very neat refreshing. Loving the illumination too. Feels cozy.
Again, getting the prompt that voting is closed altho it's never opened.
Can't seem to vote!!!!!!!!!!
The best trailer interior that I have ever seen. Great job. It shows great planning, organization, and creativity. The surfaces aren't the stereotypical materials associated with mobile homes.
This is INCREDIBLE. I'd love to see the outside, too!
While I'm waiting to vote I have to tell you what a wonderful job you did. It is a WONDERFUL space!! Love it. I want the kitchen, actually the whole place. My favorite space.
This is freaking amazing! I am so impressed! Great work.
Love it!
I love seeing teeny tiny spaces put together so well. Congrats to you on a great job, especially when you went from 1500 to 360 sq. ft.
I'd love to see more photos. This trailer is incredible!
Great job! The layout is great. I think its how the pictures are taken but I feel like I might need to crouch a little though. Are your ceilings really low?
Either way, it looks great. Even love the little shot of the bathroom. The black sink atop the black cabinet really ties it to the rest of the house.
Stunning! Would love to know where you got the sectional sofa. I'm looking for one just like it.
Really beautiful. Fantastic job.
Very impressed. I can't believe this a trailer home. Fabulous job!
There's a Spot on your couch. :)
Wait... martinis in a TRAILER??? Now THAT'S camping I can get behind!
I honestly hope you take the big prize... totally fun, and TOTALLY a media opp for AT.
Have never been impressed with the Trailer's entered in this contest until now. It seems so much larger than a 700 sq ft one I just looked at (won't say which). Fabulous!
This gets my vote for actually looking comfortable, un-cramped and livable in such a tiny space. Great job.
Mon dieu! What a trailer!! I'm ... awestruck. It looks like you guys have a lot of fun there.
So are both dogs equally tiny? And where's the cat? Does it have a litterbox? So many questions....
I would also love to see a shot of the exterior.
No. Way.
This is incredible.
Thanks for proving to us all that you don't need more space to have a comfortable, gorgeous, inviting home.
OMG trailer chic??? I had no idea such a thing existed.
I would never have known it was a trailer, if you hadn't said this.
Great job!
wow great job!
I want to see a pic of the outside of the trailer...is it all vntage looking...I love those old silver tinny looking trailers.
I cannot show this to my wife. We are looking for a trailer to buy while I'm in school, although more in the 600-900sq foot range, and we will not have the money to fix it up as nice as yours is.
Never seen such a beautiful trailer interior. Thanks for sharing
Gorgeous!!! My only question is the table. It might be very inconvenient... The design, especially colors are impressing!!! All my thumbs-up are for you!
i can't believeeee that is a mobile home. that is REALLY awesome. beautifullll
Wow, cannot believe this is as small as it is, it certainly doesn't look it, and it's packed with personality. Big thumbs up.
I was about to say that I wasn't into the curtains. I'm still not, but I completely understand now that I read the entry.
You're gooooooood. Kudos to you and your stylin' ride!
You have given me a lot of food for thought for my own home, and for that I thank you!
Lovely. I grew up in a trailer - people were always so shocked when they came inside and exclaimed that it "just looks like a regular, nice house inside!" - makes me wonder what people were expecting. As a kid I even had people ask me if I "knew what running water was"... sigh.
Absolutely fantastic!
You should win! A trailer? How amazing!
What a tacky and cluttered mess. It looks like a "trading places" episode. Looks like a trailer to me.
Tanille, have you considered a diy blog of some sort. People are so impressed and have so many questions. I would love to see more too.
It is such an inspiration especially these days when people are needing to downsize due to the economy.
Thanks AT for letting us see new possibilities!!
Can you tell me the dimensions of the space please (how wide, how long)? Unless all the furnishings are 'miniature', I can't fathom that this is 360 square feet.
I live in NYC and see a lot of tiny apartments - this does appear to be much larger than 360 sq. ft - particularly the length....
You've restored my faith in trailer-chic!
this is freaking fantastic. you did an amazing job of downsizing and making your trailer a beautiful, functional home!
Oooh la la. Beautiful home! Especially love the bright lighting and the kitchen island.
idaladala - there appears to be a scale on the floor plan. It does indeed appear about 360 sf (I say it's about 36 x 10), but who knows how accurate it might be.
Nevertheless, this looks great. It's so far beyond what I would expect a trailer to look like. It's excellent!
What, no pictures of the trailer exterior? The imagination runs wild: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/116/268576352_13d80a3eb2.jpg
I think this is incredible! What creative folks! This is truly a 'win' in my book. Any time you can take a trailer and make it look fabulous is just genious!
I didn't read the info so I didn't know this was a trailer. I voted thumbs up just from the photos. Great job. I would like to see the outside as well. Makes me want a trailer.
I am totally amazed! Looks much larger than 360 sq/ft! You did an incredible job and I would never have guessed that it was a trailer if it wasn't in the title of the post!
This is a trailer????!!! You did an amazing job and given me great inspiration!
WOW would not have guessed this is a trailer. GREAT job!
Magnificent. Would never have believed it was a trailer, looks like a chic metropolitan efficiency. Very, very well done indeed!
Seeing this project from inception to completion I am amazed at the transformation. There were certain obstacles to overcome and they were done well without sacrificing style or function.
Dudddeee!! This is awesome! And it's a trailer?? Who woulda thunk it! I would love to see what the outside looks like.
Great style, colours and impeccable space utilisation! The fact that this is a trailer makes it twice as impressive. Thumbs up!
My favorite in this category!!
AMAZING!!!! You did a wonderful job. I want a trailer please:)
If someone had told me it was possible to make a 1959 trailer look that cool, I would have not believed them. Well done, totally amazing reno.
I hate zebra print, but I kinda love that zebra ottoman in the living area. It just works so well with the rest of the space. Great job with the space!
I'd love to see what a 1959 trailer looks like on the outside!
You've made a beautiful space. The living room is incredible just because of how big it feels, but the kitchen is what really did it for me. Thumbs up!
i dig it!
I can imagine sitting right there with that little dog and sipping one of those martinis. You did a great job. double thumbs up!!!
Thanks everyone for the great comments. To answer a few questions. . . no outside pics yet. Last years project was interior - this summer project is exterior. Although very thankful it doesn't look nearly as bad as dansx pic. Haha!
It's not the shiny aluminum - we wish! We love that look, but just white - still cool vintage looking though.
The sectional is from World Market. Our other dog is a Basset Hound/ Beagle - so he is small but not nearly as small as our little Rowdy (shown in the first pic). We have quite a large yard. We attempted the litterbox for the first month but couldn't deal so now Joey's litterbox is the great outdoors. He is safe out there and we are all much happier - him included.
The trailer is 10 X 36 and someone mentioned the table situation. We didn't plan on having a dining table when we moved in - although now we regret. We plan on re-working the island with a new drop-leaf top so that we can eat there and have a bistro set outside.
Have absolutely considered doing a blog. I wish that I had done one during the reno because this was a first for us and we had no idea what we were doing. It would have been a good one! Blood, sweat & tears! But maybe for the outside - hmm . . . maybe :).
Quick question: is the flooring Teragren Synergy bamboo?
(I just had it installed in my place and it looks reeallly similar.)
No, actually it is a Shaw laminate, i don't remember the style and color.
you are getting such great reviews, do you think after you get done with the outside we can all see it?
Wow. If you can do THAT in that space, I have no excuse with my small space. Thanks for the motivation! You guys rock! Great inspiration!
Great job, this is one awesome trailer!
Very impressive! I would never guess this was a trailer...great skill in the decorating!
As a buddy of this teeny tiny I want to add a few things which were not mentioned, not only is this trailer truly amazing in person but they used mostly recycled materials and the finishing cost was amazing!!! Also for the question about the couch it was from world market, and yes the outside is super cute and vintage, I wish she had shown the yard. They deserve to win this one!!! Good job guys!
Bon
Tanille is a friend of mine, and soon to be nieghbor. If it wasn't for her amazing sense of style I would have never realized how beautiful a trailer can be! She's helping me with mine as we speak....
I don't see a closet anywhere or dresser.. where do you keep clothes????
WoW!
Thanks guys! The closet is the white curtained area in the bedroom, behind the curtains is our old closet organizing system that we re-used to create a closet where there was none. Also, the antique dresser used as the vanity in the bathroom is also all storage.
Hoping soon to get an ikea system to replace the closet behind the curtain.
Holy moly, that's the nicest trailer I've ever seen! Love how open it is!
Im so bummed! Just tried voting for your inspiring trailer but it's too late. Good luck, I hope you make it into the finals because you def deserve to.
Tried to vote but too late! What can I add but ditto to all the positive comments. I didn't even notice the little dog in the first pic. Read about him in the comments then went back to play Spot the Pup. He is certainly well matched to his environment! :0)
just checked the voting. very bummed that you are not winning!
PLEASE start a blog and post before and after pics.
Way to go! You did a beautiful job!
