What is your favorite element of your Small & Cool home?I love both the couch area and the credenza 'wall'. While hanging on the couch you'll find yourself almost sitting outside; the beautiful trees, the clouds; the sun in the afternoon; it's perfect. You simply forget you live in a small space! Most of our decor is vintage; found on the street and in vintage stores. On the credenza I treasure my best finds.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your Small Cool home? Living in a rental you have to deal with some limitations you can't change. Working around the radiators in the apartment was one of those challenges. I had to find new ways to arrange some furniture, like the credenza. I think the paintings above it help to anchor the composition.
One other thing; my husband (student) has a lot of books and cd's! We had to find a bookcase system that was flexible and capable of holding both books, cd's and our laundry & recycling bins. I found good advice on AT about large collections of bookcases; approach it as a 'wall' rather than individual pieces of furniture. Following this advice we went with the Ivar system from Ikea and gave it a fresh, white paint.
