While the US finalists continue to battle it out through Monday for the grand prize, the reader vote has already established a winner in the International division. And for 2011, that honor goes to Lasse, from Arhaus, Denmark…
His home is a tidy 688 square foot one-bedroom, with plenty of design features that Apartment Therapy readers love: crisp white walls, wide plank wood floors and a well chosen collection of vintage modern furniture. A major key to this small home's great look? The expertly composed and balanced display of artwork throughout, which turns each wall into a visual treat.
While Lasse says that the biggest challenge for this space was "finding solutions for storage while maintaining a sense of balance", the choices made are smart ones; a long wall of low open cabinetry holds books while providing a surface for display in the dining room and the showstopper of a wooden credenza/media center in the living area.

On behalf of all of us at Apartment Therapy, congratulations to and three cheers for Lasse!
