(We had a great deal of entries that didn't make the cut last month, BUT which deserve to be seen. Here's the first, which is TINY.)

"Aloha AT!

Here's my place!

I've attached a squarefootage layout...I don't know how to do the math, but as you can probably tell, it's not a lot of space. My biggest challenge was to figure out how to suspend lights (I have a lot of asian rice paper lamps), mirrors and photos to personalize the space because the walls are concrete and I am only renting. That means no paint at all either....

The bed area has IKEA mirrors above it to help with the illusion of more space and the futon doubles as my bed and a sofa for entertaining. I was even able to fit in two rounded wicker chairs for additional seating.
And to hide the ugly jealousies -- Readyblinds from Home Depot.

The TV chest is a chinese cabinet that my boyfriend built and my desk was built by him as well (using a Crate & Barrel leaning shelf as inspiration).

My kitchen area is a bit odd. The cabinet on the wall was there when I moved in, so I needed to work around it. I added color by staggering two painted wooden panels in a yummy orange color. I use a lot of white to balance off the strong orange: hanging rice paper lamp, white paper star and some green japanese floor pillows are stacked for both display and additional seating when necessary.

I love coming home to my place. It's a warm and inviting sanctuary hidden within a cold, concrete complex.

Thanks for letting me show my place to you.

Mahalo!"
