Last week, we posed a question about whether or not the home office should ever enter the bedroom. Some readers didn't think a designated workspace was necessary in this era of laptops, but for those who fancy a desk here's a roundup of those that won't take up much more than 3 feet by 2 feet of your valuable space.

I have the Sloane Desk from Crate & Barrel and I absolutely love it!

Having a small desk forces me to organize my piles of paper at the end of every week! I can recommend the new Muji desk designed by Konstantin Grcic in collaboration with Thonet. The best price I've found on it is at the MoMA Store, especially if you are a member.

This crate and barrel desk looks great and it might be even better for a small space than the puzzle desk. I wish it was in my price range.

The West Elm desk looks totally hot! Does anyone know if it's functional?
Love the Slideaway desk from West Elm! So sleek!
Although extermely fugly, I loved the compact library study carrel I once had. I'm usually a space hog that like to spread stuff out, but I was able to place things on the top shelf and push the flat screen and prop books and documents against the back. I could tape stuff all over it and the enclosed space made me focus. I gave it up because is was a pita when moving.
My dream desk is the Bunny Williams workshorse. The slanted back is key because it precludes needing space to spread things out on the desktop. Given the $4250 price, I'm seriously considering getting something similar custom built with a hinged back and folding legs.
We just got the Room & Board work station to put in our living room because our office has become a nursery. I wouldn't allow it in the bedroom, nor do I allow a tv (much to my husband's disliking). Here is the Room & Board workstation...http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=19191&catalog=filter&menuCatalog=room&menuSubcategory=213146
That inexplicable bowl o' pine cones in the West Elm slip desk photo kills me.
I can't believe the Ikea wall-mounted computer work station wasn't mentioned! Not only is it compact (esp. when folded up), it frees up all that floor space. It really adds so much to *not* feeling claustrophobic in our tiny studio, and it still provides a decent amount of work area. :)
berkleybabe, what's it called?
