Small doses of layered pattern allow you to mix and match without investing too much time or money. A few places to consider layering patterns include the kitchen (experiment with patterned dishes and tea towels), the dining room (try out some patterned place settings), a hallway corner or nook (try wallpapering a small section), and your living room (throw pillows, stacking cushions, and blankets can have a big impact).
