For those of us with a small yard it can be difficult to carve out space for a garden, let alone a dedicated potting shed. Check out this creative way to store your tools while keeping the focus on the garden itself.
For this project, landscape architect Chris Saleeba of Seattle-based Fresh Digs carved out a 4’x4’ space in his yard and transformed it into a small utility area. Using leftover wood from a fence project, Chris built a potting bench and storage area for garden tools and a hose reel. The slim profile allows enough room to move around with space for a couple of garden stools and a compost basket. Best of all, the tall plants along the perimeter help hide the work space from view without limiting its functionality.
