Name: Lily & Ruby
Age: 4 years and 1 year
Location: New Westminster, BC
Color Inspiration: I recently moved my girls into the room together, giving my son his own room again. I didn't want a typical pink room, so decided to use all colors of the rainbow! I love color and it was very liberating to not be limited to just a couple of colors. I decided to leave the turquoise wall, it's such a bright vivid color, and added colors around it.

Tip For Using Color: Don't be afraid to use lots of color! A child's bedroom is the one place in the house where you can never have too much or too many colors.
Colors Used: The wool rug is from Ikea, and ties all the colors of the room together. I recovered a canvas with this great new Ikea fabric. I made the bunting to tie in the pink and green of the picture. Bedding is also Ikea and has all the same colors as the rug. There are several other hand-crafted items in the room made by either myself or friends - the pillows on the bed, the framed flower applique on the shelf, the quilt over the crib, and paper covered letters of my daughter's name. The painting above the bed was done by local artist Lori Joy Smith, alphabet poster was bought on Etsy, from Lucky Paperie, blue painting above dresser is from Creative Thursday on Etsy.

Love this room! Bright and cheery and everything a little one's room should be. I love the baskets hanging from the bed! My son has the same exact bed...totally going to try to do that myself. Thanks for the great idea.
Beautiful use of bright colors! It's not too overwhelming... just perfect!
