Color Inspiration: We are a military family that lives in base housing. The walls in our house are white, white, and more WHITE! So, I love finding fun accesories to add a punch of color to our home. The inspiration for our daughter Carter's room was actually the painting.
Give Beth & Carter a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!

Tip For Using Color: My one tip for color is that color doesn't have to be in the form of painting a wall! You can have a large canvas that hangs on a wall (even if it is a solid color) to add a bright punch to a colorless room.
Colors Used: No paint colors are used on our walls.

White Enamel Flatwa...
wow, how beautiful and creative, the pink shelving is gorgeous, great job!!!!
Love that Ikea spinning chair. One of our best "toy" purchases ever! Your room is beautiful, Carter!
Pfft. I resent you giving my name to a girl. Pardon me while I call my therapist.
Military Housing? I would have never guessed. I'm really impressed at your use of color! So fun and happy. What a great room to grow up in. My favorite so far.... Good luck!
I would love to know more about the large painting over the bed.
I love this room by the way!
I absolutely adore this room! Not only because it's wonderfully done and full of imagination, but because anyone can create a fabulous room with unlimited resources and it takes someone special to create a room like this in base housing on a limited budget!
Bravo!
WOW! What a lucky little girl to live in such a joyful room. You can actually feel the love!
Thanks for the votes and words of encouragement! It can be a challenge to make "generic" housing appealing...so thanks for the kind comments.
Travis-The painting over the bed was done for our daughter when she was born by my mom who is an artist. It's grown with her through her 4 years. While colorful and funky it was also painted with love, which is what really makes it special!
Carter you are very lucky to have such a beautiful room. Your mother made great choices when she was decorating it. Pink is one of my very favorite colors.
this room is wonderful! i just had my first girl (after two boys)...will you come and help me decorate!?
great job, i'm sure carter loves her fun and funky, but still comfy, room! thumbs up forsure.
Im loving that duvet cover. Where did you find it? Awesome room.
didnt even notice that the walls were white untill i read it!!! great job.
This is it! Exactly what I am looking for in my daughter's room. Any chance your Mom wants to make another painting?
Beautiful Job Beth! Of course I love your Mom's painting!! You did a great job accessorizing the Army white!!

Thanks again for all the kind words...
tpost-The duvet cover was a garage sale find, what can I say, sometimes you just get lucky! :)
asyverson-She definitely might consider it! :) Feel free to email me if you are really interested beth@bethsaxton.com
Great room! I would have LOVED this growing up-- especially the flowers hanging from the ceiling and the little chair. I'll have to settle for the lamps-- had those for a while. :)
Sorry! I guess the time expired....I didn't check my emails the last couple of days.
I hope you win, Carter. Your room is the best ever!!!!
SO CUTE love the Slaughter Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I adore the artwork on the wall...and the obvious color theme. What did it for me were the orange containers lined up by the window. I'm an adult but I want this bedroom for myself!
Good luck! The room is super cute and creative!

I just wanted to know where you got the "Imagine" photograph from?
