Two hundred square feet - even after digesting all the Smallest Coolest entries we still think that is one impressively tiny home. We're happy Domino is featuring a small apartment again in this issue. A Domino editor's spot, this apartment is all dressed up and was decorated without fear. Lots of pattern, color, and art - it is not an exercise in minimalism. We applaud this bold approach - after all, why not?
The basic scheme of white and black is taken to the top with the amazing paisley wallpaper from Cole and Sons. We still love it every time we see it (although that seems like everywhere these days). The furniture choices are very traditional in style - the daybed, small side by side tables, two matching side chairs, a parsons desk. Even with these classic shapes the color and pattern choices make the space gutsy. We like the teal tables with the lavender sofa. The intensely colored cut flowers and wildly patterned pillows are a happy jumble against the b&w backdrop.
We think the golden wood floors are key to making this space welcoming - the very dark floors we see often lately could have made this room very chilly. Thanks: Dominomag.com
