Earlier this week our neighbors kindly took my husband and me out on their sailboat for a sunset cruise. While the boat (30 feet long) and its sails (40 feet measured from the water) felt very big, I was impressed by the efficiency of the tiny cabin. (The view of the city was pretty cool too.)
The bed took up the part of the cabin in the bow of the boat, which seemed cozy, and the kitchen and bathroom were standing room only. (As in, one person standing: the houseboat shown here is spacious by comparison.)
Our neighbors said they lived in the boat while they were renovating their house on our street. While I don't think I'm the type who could cruise out on the seas in 50 square feet, I'm very curious what it'd be like to try living in such a small space.
