No space for a home office? No problem — use your door! Over-the-door pockets and baskets provide much needed space for documents, mail and office supplies. Combining two over-the-door organizers work even better for versatility and more storage.
The over-the-door office in my home is composed of two Fabric Wall-Mount Magazine Organizers (Photo 1) hung side by side. Rather than using nails, try using small over-the-door hooks to prevent damaging the door.
1. Fabric Wall-Mount Magazine Organizer, from The Container Store
This is my favorite of the bunch because of its lean design, ability to hold a variety of paperwork including documents, folders and mail, and its low price! Plus, the mini pocket at the bottom can be used as a pen cup. $14.99
2. Over-The-Door 3-Tier Basket Storage, from Bed Bath & Beyond
This offers roomy storage for bills, checkbooks and catalogs. $54.99
3. Gray Harper Over-Door Storage, from Pottery Barn Kids
The generous pockets will hold even your largest folders. $39.00
4. Over-The-Cabinet-Door Coupon Pockets, from Bed Bath & Beyond
Its three deep pockets provide versatile storage for more than just coupons! $7.99
5. Platinum elfa Laundry Door & Wall Rack, from The Container Store
Designed to organize the laundry room, this storage gem works great as an over-the-door office. Its repositionable baskets provide flexible, functional and portable storage. $69.03

They are always so handy and look so good too. I had one in my room like the third one over-door storage during my childhood. It was so functional and practical.
I love #1! What a great value. I'll use it to organize my kids' art supplies...
Great idea! I could use one of these on the back of my closet door for scarves and belts.
Love the 1st one! Very nice. Want.
If you practice Feng Shui..bad idea.
"Hanging items on the back of doors increases the weight of the door and adds more strugle to your life".
If it doesn't matter to you, wonderful solutions and colorful too.
For my "office supply storage area" I use a closet shoe organizer IN my closet. It means less visual clutter, especially for people who stay in my home office/guest room.
The fabric wall-mount options are great. Forget the home office; My actual office is so drab. A splash of color is desperately needed. I may see about sneaking these past the facilities people and livening up the corporate environment. . .
That's funny -- I just bought one of the first one -- it came yesterday! It's a little smaller than I'd expected (didn't look at the measurements that carefully) but really great, and nicely made. I bought two medium Command hooks to hang it on -- worked great.
Interesting - does this apply to closet doors? I do practice Feng Shui but still have a mirror and a couple of hooks on the back of closet doors. Is this a problem?
If it makes your door hang crooked so it doesn't shut properly, then it's a problem. Too much weight and it can permanently make the door hang crooked and landlords don't like that. Still can be useful hanging other places, like behind a door that's always open.
