Tip for Living Small with Kids: The motto, "keep only what you know to be useful and what you believe to be beautiful" is very important when designing small spaces... this is especially true when it comes to toys. I am a big time believer in less is more.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in putting together this room? 1. We rent and didn't want to paint the walls.
2. We needed the guest bed and Acacia's big girl bed to have matching duvet covers. I bought two twin size ones and sewed hers to fit.
3. This room was for a 2 year old girly girl, a 4 month old baby boy, and a guest room when our family visits.
4. We were on a VERY tight budget (... like don't spend any money if possible). The crib was given to us, the changing table was a goodwill find, the wheat field picture was taken by a friend of mine, the awesome wheat duvet covers are from Ikea, I've had the trunk since college, the bench/chest was a gift, and the barn nightlight was an ebay score, I painted the tree mural to copy the one in the bedding using old wall paint.

way to go! :)
Bumper/bedding set from, please?
The bedding is part of the Pottery Barn Kids organic line... but it was the last one in the store, on clearance, and they don't carry it on their website anymore.
I guess that's not very helpful information; sorry!

Looks wonderful. You did a fantastic job!
the fact that this room has been designed to accommodate 3 very different inhabitants at any given time speaks volumes of its strategic vision and execution...all this on a raveled little shoe string budget? great work shannon and sweet shalom to jackson & acacia!
