We loved all the online April Fool's Jokes last Friday (and pulled off a few of our own) and one of our favorites was a fake ad for a new Ikea dog high chair, the Hundstol. It was a clever, well-executed prank, but we couldn't help but think that the inset bowls in this high chair were rather brilliant for kids. Are we right?
You can watch the fun Ikea ad here which highlights some of the design features of the Hundstol - no-slip grip pads for the dog's feet, a space for the dog's tail and two inset bowls to reduce spills. Parents know that most babies and young toddlers go through a stage of picking up, throwing or dropping their bowls and we've had many readers write us for advice because suction bowls are often not strong enough. So, to our eye, inset bowls would be a terrific solution to prevent this.
What do you think? Is this as smart an idea as we suspect? Would you buy a high chair with this feature? Do you know of any high chairs like this that we haven't seen?
