Here's my third peek into the new book that comes out in 21 days. This one highlights some rooms with deep, saturated color that's part of a big style shift in the last few years — one of a few trends that you'll see in the book. As always, the photos have been lovingly taken by Jim Franco and each chapter dissects one room of the home and pulls tips and resources so that you can DIY. Enjoy!
Each of these pictures is part of a bunch of photos that focus on each room in detail and everything you see we've sourced in the back of the book.
The Princess Bedroom

From the book: "In a child's room, scale is everything. Here, the billowy canopy around the bed makes the sleeping area seem larger and adds a lot of drama to a fairly simple layout. Although it seems like a daring choice at first, purple actually made a lot of sense here. While warm colors tend to be overstimulating for bedrooms, and cool colors too grown up, purple, a combination of blue (cool) and red (warm), gives the room a rich and fanciful feeling that's just right for a growing child."
Thoughts on Bedroom Colors

From the book: "This bedroom goes against my cool color principles, but it's stunning to look at. The strong pink here was meant mainly to take the edge off the rough brick wall in this former commercial space, and it works."

Nomade Express Slee...
I can't wait to get the book. I love that second photo: the wall color, the high ceilings, the pillow!
Where can I get the wall light in the second photo?
Thank you Maxwell for the sneak peeks! I really hope to find the book in my country bookstores...
I´m in love with the Brooklyn home office with bamboo cabinetry, pictured in the opening page of the book. Does anybody remember this one? Because I´ve been searching all over AT but I can´t find it...

Good question. I sourced SO MANY things, but I didn't source that lamp in the book. That's from David Alhadeff's apartment and most of his stuff comes through his shop: The Future Perfect. You can ask them:

I WANT this book!
I can't wait to have this book in my hands! Maxwell always does such a great job at compiling some of the most visually stimulating and calming spaces.
I keep seeing beds against the window in tiny rooms like the purple room and I'm starting to like it. I think this may work for my daughter's room.
I too can't wait to get my hands on this book. Thank you for posting teasers :)
Here's the link to the post that has the photo of the bamboo shelves:

I adore the pink exposed brick.
I cannot WAIT to get this book!!!
DUDE! Okay, yes- I'm giddy at the thought of being hands-on your next book.
So so important to me:
Thank you so very much for including Indie Bound in your options to purchase this book.
Compared to the smarty-pants around me, I'm not that well read- yet I can't bear to purchase my books in a 'big box' store that has the most shallow selection of books - or from online behemoths once I've discovered their odious business practices.
(You see how nice I am about not naming names- all grown up, me!)
Seriously, this isn't some Us-vs-Them or a Unicorn in a Field. I deeply, seriously can't stand the idea of more empty storefronts in my town & sometimes- I need real book and author help. I'll pinch a few pennies, spend a few extra bucks and- try to keep my town a little alive.
THANK YOU.
