A few weeks ago I took a last-minute, wonderful whirlwind of a long weekend and visited IKEA's design headquarters in Almhult, Sweden. (I know, I know, I'm lucky : dream job!) I saw SO much and took SO many photos, but I thought I'd start off my coverage by sharing with you a simple top 10 list; the products from the upcoming collection sneak peeks I attended that we just cannot wait to get our hands on...

#1

Literally EVERY SINGLE THING from the g-g-g-gorgeous SINNERLIG collection (launching October 2015) which is a collaboration with design icon Ilse Crawford for IKEA! But, if I have to narrow it down for the sake of the list, I'll go for the very beautiful vessels like these dramatic oversized black ones (can't you just imagine how amazing a big bunch of flowers is going to look in one of these?) and the big clear glass ones with cork lids. So pretty and so useful!

A photo of a photo because I could NOT get close enough to the real thing - all the visiting journalists were loving it and therefore swarming it!

#2

The cutest (bar!) (plant!) (craft!) cart maybe ever from the ANVANDBAR collection (launching April 2016).

There are actually two patterned runners in the collection - I like the larger scale one best, but you can see a bit of the more stripe-y one in the background. They'd look fab together in a long hallway or similar situation.

#3

The super Scandi-meets-hippie-weaver graphic black and cream runner from the TILLFALLE collection (launching February 2016).

Oh, and that rug it's sitting on is pretty hot in real life, too.

#4

Global goes matte-black modern. A traditional tea-table shape done up in super sexy dark metal from the SVARTAN collection (launching September 2016).

The elegant organic forms make these serving spoons from the Sittning collection stand out (launching September 2015) stand out.

#7

The cane and wood shelving unit from the beautiful, designer + craftsman collaborative collection called VIKTIGT (launching May 2016).

#8

The hottest hot pink (my camera couldn't quite capture the awesomeness of this color) puffer/sleeping bag style quilt from the super-early sneak peek at the still-far-off-but-always-amazing PS Collection. (launching 2017!).

#9

The wild op-art-esque pattern-topped wooden side table that looks even more amazing with more pattern (and graphic-shaped goods) layered on top from the TILLFALLE collection (launching February 2016)

The lovely author of Find It Part 1 gave me a copy and it's so good - I spent a very happy hour poring over it on the plane home.

#10

The so very excellent organizing inspiration books FIND IT Part 1 (about closet and wardrobe storage) and FIND IT Part 2 (about kitchen and food storage). FIND IT Part 1 is coming any minute (it might be here already at your local store) and FIND IT Part 2 is launching April 2016.

I'll be sharing more about the upcoming collections in the weeks to come, along with more from Almhult - stay tuned!
