Bentwood redux. We received a pdf preview of a feature from the upcoming issue of Martha Stewart Living. Entitled "A Classic's New Curve", it is an eight page how-to extravaganza on creating new pieces from the ubiquitous flea market staple, the Bentwood chair.
Fritz Karch, collecting editorial director at MSL decided to design the series of projects mainly based on parts salvaged from Bentwood chairs that have seen better days - those that are too rickety for use or whose caning seats are shot. These neglected chairs can often be found inexpensively, and Karch has developed flexible projects that reflect the beauty of the original chairs - it's a good, clippable DIY piece that includes photos, step by step directions and diagrams.
Coming in the August issue of Martha Stewart Living, on newsstands July 16th. (Thanks Nicole and Chris!)
