Ask us what our favourite local decor and design shop is and we'll quickly blurt out like that know-it-all in your AP History class, "Reform School!". Fronted by two local yokels, owners Billie and Tootie, the shop is moving down the street from their previous location to a prime spot where some of you might recognize as the former locations of The Den of Antiquity (also now famous from a car commercial earlier this year). We stopped by for a sneak peek just moments ago...
The formerly dark decor of the vintage furnishing shop has been gutted and cleaned out, and is now being prepped to be filled with a mixture of local and design wares...but now all in a much more spacious shop, re-opening November 1st at their new location at 3902 Sunset Blvd.
Here's the only photo I was permitted to snap moments ago...their signature pencil in the ceiling decor which we're happy to see survived the move over. Billie and Tootie are also going to be welcoming local crafting whiz and Felt Club and Craft Magazine contributor, Jenny Ryan, who will heading Reform School's "Home Ec department", with craft & d.i.y. classes starting fall.
Check this out: hand-silkscreened wallpaper Billie and Tootie made using kiddy penmanship paper and Julia Rothman artwork, all applied using Mod Podge...talk about DIY!
FYI, I was told that because they're in transition, they're offering a special moving sale discount on all purchases: 15% off with the coupon code "moving08".
