SF Sneak Preview: Heath Open Studio & Factory-Wide Sale

A few weeks ago, we posted about the Heath Ceramics factory and a big sale coming up there. Now it's just a day away! This Friday-Sunday, stop by the Sausalito factory store and receive 15% off all merchandise — including one-of-a-kind samples of tableware, tiles and Heath Home items (flatware, glassware, linens). And, Saturday and Sunday, there will be a special Open Studio, during which visitors can see exactly how Heath products are handcrafted. The weekend's activities will also include a silent auction and vintage sale. Below are the details and a peek at more of the goods. Heath Ceramics Open Studio and Vintage Heath Auction/Sale
Hands-On Tile Glazing Opportunity & Tours of the Historic Factory

The tours will highlight Heath Ceramics unique handcrafting process with behind-the-scenes demonstrations and talks. Explore how clay is made and glazes are mixed and applied to clay. Watch or participate in the creation process. Discover how specific pieces are formed and glaze a tile. Meet the owners.

A Vintage Sale and Silent Auction will feature tiles and buttons produced by artist and founder Edith Heath and her staff from the 1960s through the 1980s. More significant examples of Edith Heath's tile work, jewelry design, and one-of-a-kind samples and plates will be available in silent auctions over the weekend.
