Last year, Danielle wrote about using a vintage drawer as a planter box. What do you think about the idea of taking it one step further and actually planting flowers in the top drawer of a dresser?
Jonathan, over at Happy Mundane, snapped a photo of this "drawer garden" from Partners & Spade. Their storefront, in lower Manhattan, "presents a constantly re-imagined group show of artwork, objects, collections and ideas generated by an ever changing cast of collaborators." We have to say that, in the right context, we love this idea. While it may not be altogether sensible in the actual top drawer of our dresser, there are many images of successful applications in a yard or patio setting.
We aren't blessed with much more than concrete in our outdoor area, so adding this to a setting of furniture could be lovely. While we're sure there are a few steps to be taken to make this a sustainable planter, it doesn't seem entirely unreasonable. What do you think about this repurposing--indoors or out!?
