"Root," as he's called, is a softie wall hanging, featuring a jelly jar nestled inside its head for displaying flowers and plant clippings - a creation by the magical seamstress Lizette Greco. I'm a big fan of all of Greco's work, but right now I'm particularly partial to this sleepy looking wall vase, given all the lively spring greenery waking up from the ground.
We think this content tuber would look lovely in any space in the house, but especially magical in a kid's room.
Greco's creatures are a labor of love, crafted from thrift and recycled fabrics. But what's most charming about her work is that all of it is either based or inspired by children's drawings, most of which is produced by her own kids, instilling her creations with appealing imperfections and an intimate charisma.
Her Etsy store currently only shows one root creature up for grabs, but states that additional roots are available upon request. She also accepts commissions from folks who want to see their own kid's artwork transformed into a captivating softie. Peruse more of her fantastic work on her Flickr stream.
It might be challenging to craft anything as whimsical and winsome myself, but this has certainly got me brainstorming about potential costumes for a jelly jar wall creature of my own.
