It seems IKEA isn't the only retailer interested in selling solar panels. Sam's Clubs in Southern California, through a partnership with BP and Borrego Solar, will sell systems through kiosks set up in the store.
According to Sam's Club, "the display explains how solar power works, the design and installation process, how much energy can be saved, the typical cost of a system and all available incentives and rebates." They estimate on top of all the usual rebates and incentives an additional savings of $500 off the retail cost of the solar panels.
So sure, it should be cheaper. But the question remains: would you buy a PV system at Sam's?
