Growing up with hippy parents, VW buses have always held a special place in our heart. Well, the feelings have been rekindled with this modernized eco-friendly version developed by Alexandre Verdier. Souped up with solar panels and a bio-diesel electric hybrid engine, the Westfalia is back on the scene and is cooler than ever...
Verdier's green camper is equipped with photovoltaic panels set on a sun tracker to maximize solar gain. The PV panels are used to help power a media center that can provide a weather optimized travel plan, campground directories, historical and ecological information of the surroundings, and energy consumption data.
Other amenities include a built-in kitchenette, an entertainment center, a height adjustable roof, and wireless internet. Verdier is hoping the find a corporate partner to get the vans into production, which could cost around $69,000.

Swoon!
I so badly wish I had a garage to take on a project like this.
Fantastic, I hope this idea gets off the ground, so much better than the RVs towing cars that seem to be all over CA in July. Check out this amazing tent that you could use as a guest room:-

Very cute! I'm just thinking the clearance is a little low to actually take "camping" anywhere
