Piksols are small solar cells that when hit with sunlight, start storing the energy from the sun's rays and also carry the ability to display some pretty cool graphics. The system uses negative and positive space to portray pictures on the outside of buildings and inside your home. Check out a video to see how it works after the jump.
The Solar Piksols are the brain child of swiss-based drzach & suchy. They've already created a few small sections of their idea and we can't wait to see things in full scale one more pieces have been created. Although we don't see this being used on the outside of a building (like they hope), we're guessing there would be too much dust and dirt to really work out well, we can see this being used indoors in your home.
In our own home we have one wall that always has constant sun and would greatly benefit from something like this. Just think if you could run a small scale solar energy piece of artwork that could later charge your cell phone or even power your washing machine for you? Now that's some good thinking!
