When Gail Siegel, a full-time jeweler ran out of space to work in her home, she decided to install this solar-powered shed outfitted with electricity, plumbing, and a foam-insulated concrete floor.
After debating between renting a space, buying a larger home, and building a backyard shed, Gail Siegel went with the shed option, opting for a prefabricated Studio Shed and solar panels from a company named SolSource.
SolSource installed a 1.9 kW panel on top of the 11' x 16' roof, which generates enough energy from the sun to power the shed, and even help out with some power for the main home. The shed also features corrugated metal siding, and energy efficient windows to keep energy usage to a minimum.
