Solar-Breeze Sun Powered Pool Skimmer

Solar-Breeze Sun Powered Pool Skimmer

Eco Pool Technologies's Solar-Breeze is to the pool like a Roomba robotic vacuum is to your living room. Except this helpful pool cleaner doesn't require any outlet, taking advantage of two long, thin solar panel arrays to harvest the sun's rays to keep the debris collecting skimmer moving, while also dispensing pool chemicals. The unit uses three filters and an additional paper towel insertion filter to keep the pool clean, with 4 bumper wheels that adjust the trajectory of the unit to keep it moving all around...

The Solar-Breeze is designed to skim across the edges of the pool where debris naturally congregate, and also uses a low speed setting to conserve battery life when daylight is at a minimum and while operating during the evening. In sunny Southern California and other Southwest states, this sort of autonomous solar powered device seems like a perfect cleaning aid, since sunlight is readily available and in abundance. Our only criticism is the $450 price point...ouch...for that amount an old fashion pool net and some sweat-inducing work is the more reasonable option. Of course, it would help if we had a pool to clean and enjoy in the first place, so this is all hypothetical musings.
