Lets play the 'Get to Know Taryn' game. Dislikes: wires, pickles and wasting space. Likes: dim lighting, the color "greige," green living made easy and silhouettes. Needless to say, when I saw this lamp concept, it spoke to me. A mood lighting fixture, this lamp uses wasted solar energy to power a no-space flat silhouette lamp. If it could get the pickles off of my hamburger, I'd marry the darn thing...

The Solar vertical lamp uses energy collected from panels hidden on the backs of vertical blinds. With the blinds closed during the day blocking the rays of the hot sun, the pads are collecting enough juice to run through the night so that once the sun goes down, your mood lighting shines. The Solar Vertical Lamp is created by Korean designers Yoon-Hui Kim and Eun-Kyung Kim and available in a floor/table lamp or a stylish chandelier.

We love the idea, but we have to say that we'd love to see this idea incorporated directly into winndow panes or some other way that keeps our home vertical-blind free.
