- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- Even though it's a rental, it's the first place I've lived where there are no creative restrictions. I don't have to compromise with my landlord, a boyfriend, or parents. So I've really enjoyed exploring my design style and being able to alter it whenever I want.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- I think the crown jewel of any retreat, or any environment for that matter, is music (obviously not depicted here). Play it often, change it up, and you and your bedroom will reap the productivity rewards. And of course, the lighting! I love experimenting with different hues and changing out bulbs and shades to achieve the right ambience.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- I make the most out of my room by not suppressing my quirky diy ideas. They can almost always be undone if I have a change of heart.

With carte blanche, it's a little too juvenile and needs to go a little more sophisticated (and it still won't lose it's pizzaz). Still, it's a wow & vote worthy. Ps, no problem with the swing!
I disagree with the previous poster. If I could like this several times, I would. I love that this isn't the typical "grown-up" bedroom. Do what makes you happy. Well done!!!

This is great! Fun and quirky, always a winning combination for me.
So fun and whimsical....bonus points for the swing!
Love the swing!
I don't think this is juevenile at all. I think it's really creative and different and clearly an ongoing experiment, which is great. I do think the lighting in the photographs (flash?) is not doing it any favours, but it's definitely got my vote :)
I like the room. I wouldn't call it juvenile, as much as I'd call it...sophisticated youth. I could tell by the last photo that this wasn't a kid's room, but it didn't seem to be an adult room either. Going by the write up about having creative restrictions, I imagine this room belongs to someone probably 19 to 22.
i love swings.
There is no NEED to be sophisticated. That is an aesthetic choice. It would be terribly boring if we all held the same aesthetic values. This room is fun. Even though I don't love all the elements, it still rings true. Anyway, I want a ride on that swing.
Why would this be juvenile? I am an adult, and I would kill to have a swing! It's quirky and injected warmth and personality into a space that looks like it was originally quite industrial.
What a fun and creative space. Love how you took advantage of the metal beams. Voted:)
Not a fan of the swing either but I've seen in done in livingrooms and thought that was cool...go figure.
What a great room. Swing caught my eye first but what won me most was the yellow beam with books shelved on top. Great job. Your room is awesome.
House tour please....enough said!!
I have to vote for any bedroom with a swing. I'm jealous!
hmmm you go girl! Now that my bf moved in with me... I feel your pain. I miss exploring my own design wishes. He is an architect, so you can imagine!
Very creative! This is my daughter and I have to say that she has an unbelievable imagination and talent and can create a wonderful atmosphere on a tiny budget! She is always trying something new and I can see that this room has gotten even more impressive since my last visit. Way to go Somer!!!
House tour plz.. Love your vibe room and the swing of course..
