My cozy home is also my workspace! I try to make it welcoming and happy. I also like to be surrounded by my favorite things — lots of artwork and books. My style and inspiration is eclectic. I love minimal modern but also love patterns and color! I think that shows in my furniture as it's all either Jonathan Adler, Room & Board, vintage or DWR.
The challenge was turning the home into a multifunctional workspace. My solution was using a dining room table for my desk and when I have company over I take the computer down and I have a lovely place to entertain.
I interviewed Jonathan Adler a couple years ago and he said "Home should be someplace you want to be and puts a smile on your face when you walk through the door." I think I have taken that theory to heart and am pleased with my results.
Thanks Sonja!

I think I'd enjoy walking in the door, too!
this home made me smile
:D
Linear Steel Base File Cabinet! Want! But with the stainless steel base and pulls.
This looks like a very happy home. I especially like the blue and brown piece over the fireplace.
Where did you get the pillows with the large-scale houndstooth pattern on them? I've been looking everywhere and can only find it on a smaller scale, so it ends up looking checkered. Ugh!
I LOVE your style. Modern yet funky, my place is trying to be like your place.
Love it! It's a very happy looking little place. I love that you echoed the houndstooth rug in the pillows. It really helps the continuity aspect of the room, and ties the dining rug in nicely when viewed from the living area.
Beautiful! I've been looking for an accent table similar to the small white one in the first picture featured. Who was it made by? Any recommendations of where I can find a piece like this?
Inspiring...I love the colors and mix of patterns
So cute. I like that you were brave enough to put your sofa in front of the fireplace to make the space work for you!
Hi Everyone...This is Sonja! Thanks for the generous comments thus far!
First, I wanted to mention that much of the artwork are original works from the artists on the website I run called Poster Child Prints (PCP)
The website is dedicated to selling limited-edition screen prints from a wealth of artists. I started "PCP" to make art accessible to collectors of all stripes—So even if you cannot afford the gallery prices, you can have a great high quality signed and numbered work of art to make your walls more "happy".
Now, I will address some of the questions:
@ KayinKCMO - Yes! It is the Linear File Cabinet and I highly recommend it! Love it!!!
@azstar - I got the houndstooth pillows from Jonathan Adler. The houndstooth run also:)
@alexanhl - The base of those tables is from some old speakers I found at my mom's apartment 10 years ago. We took the speakers off the base and I bought a round tabletop from a hardware store and now its a table! I wish I had a more concrete recommendation for you, but just get creative!
Thanks, Sonja Teri!
That pillow on the chair looks makes it look like an angry cyclops head. The chair's seat cushions are the beak.
Lovely home. I adore the cabinet/dresser the TV is on! Where did you get it?
Great home!
cute house neighbor! i love that you showed the tv wall as well. i love to see how others have this space set up. :)
lovely home! Where's the 3 cushion sofa from?
@bear- The cabinet the TV is on is from Room & Board.
@Bridget212323- The 3 Cushion Sofa is from Room & Board.
Thanks, Sonja
I love the shade of blue in your curtains! Did you make them yourself or were those purchased?
