With most of our home entertainment
now stored digitally, the next logical thing to do is to add a home media server of some sort. For most people, what this has meant up to now is either building one from scratch or repurposing an old PC tower. The common thread between these two options is that they are usually ugly and need to be hidden out of sight somewhere. Not so with the Sony Home Entertainment Server.
Spec wise you get a 200-disc Blu-ray/DVD/CD changer and a 500GB hard drive in a glossy black, touch sensitive tower that looks more like furniture than a big spinning hard drive.
On the rear panel you get the standard connections you typically see on a stereo receiver or TV which makes connecting the needed components simply plug and play. Definitely a more consumer friendly option than some of the currently available offerings. Although it is not yet available, you can pre-order here
