When I was a kid, there was nothing better to me than turning on the radio and laying on the carpet between my two stereo speakers. But now, even though I've upgraded to better music and better speakers, I still love to lay on the floor and lose myself in music. Glad to see I'm not the only one...
The Sound Carpet is what happens when a rug and speakers love each other very much and decide to have a baby. It's a home sound system with a built-in spot to chill out and enjoy the tunes coming out of it.
The speakers, plus all of those unsightly wires, are hidden under the raised and covered corners of the carpet, having the added advantage of being a good spot to perch up against.
This concept product comes to us from the Netherlands' Lim Hyuntaik, a student at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Business Week picked this design as one of the 31 Rocking Student Design projects.
