Whenever I'm in really loud buildings I think about what I would do to help absorb the sound. I've seen a few interesting solutions in the past, but I have to say these modular tiles are by far the best to date.

The Swedish design studio Form Us With Love has come up with a great new product called Hexagon that deals with design, color, sound and sustainability all in one. They presented Hexagon at the Stockholm Design Convention this past year and it was a big success.
Hexagon panels consist of modular pieces of colorful "wood wool" that comes from the company Träullit in Sweden. "Wood Wool" is a mixture of wood slivers, water and cement. The result is a material that is environmentally friendly, water resistant, and sound absorbent.
The hexagonal tiles come in a range of colors which allows for individual creative murals to be made. I love the multiple functionality of this product. Although it's not available yet, I hope to see it installed in some establishments that can use a little help with sound balancing once it's been released.

One question: Where can I get something like this in the US?
It's not a solution if it isn't available "yet".
Great idea. Practical soundproofing is vital for residential applications. Hope when this does make it to the retail market, it doesn't cost a small fortune to install....
Love the look and the concept. Not sure something that is hexagonal can be called a "disc", or a "disk" for that matter...
Agree with GhostFish88. I always feel like the writers are hollering "Gotcha!" when they get a bunch of clicks on "not yet available" products.
This has been posted several times, and never have they been available. They should either make them or just stop advertising them.
And the title should read sound-reducing as I think we all know that these tiles don't soundPROOF anything.
How do you clean something like that?
Yeah, they might as well be made of unicorn hair!
This would be so cool as dampening on a basement ceiling. I've seen plenty of similar products here, but none in this shape or looking quite this nice. But the "normal" products could probably be cut or shaped this way somehow...
They are very cool. I do wish they were available here in the US.
@sagekitten85
Surely some vacuum attachment can deal with it?
They are available at their website, www.traullitdekor.se it is in English and has a tool for designing the wall and they send you an estimate.
Good spot, catcala.
Web site says it's vacuum safe. I sent in a design for a quote. Will post here when it's back so we can get an idea on cost.
I like the look of it.
This product looks great but is not a sound proofing product so it wont stop sound coming through the wall in an apartment!
You would need to use Quiet Glue Pro or something similar. These Hexagons will just damp the sound within the room so great for offices, recording studios etc. but do virtually nothing for sound coming through a wall.
This is the most common misconception in my industry!
