Q: Does anyone have any ideas on where to find a new retro/modern floor fan? Mine died last year and I have been on the hunt, but no luck. Thanks.

Obviously it depends upon how much you're looking to spend, but there are several here: http://lighting.carolinarustica.com/furniture/Floor%20Fan
Good question! While I would prefer central air to having to deal with fans in my apartment, they are absolutely necessary for me to make it through the summer months. I would also love to price out some options so that I can get rid of the ugly black fan I currently have in my bedroom.
I have this Hunter Century model and love it. http://www.hunterfan.com/product_detail.aspx?id=7648
It is not a exactly "vintage" looking fan,
but looking good & working well, price reasonable, too ($120-$140).
We had smaller size over 2 years and no problem with it.
Name is "Vornado" and here is the link (to one of them):

I bought a great one at Restoration Hardware a few years ago.

I have the same Hunter Century fan and it's great. Very attractive looking, and it works well. I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond a few years ago.
targets now selling a version of the hunter fan everyones commenting about. its hunter brand, but its neither on targets or hunters websites. its pretty much the same thing but instead over being over 100$ its only, like, 60. i have it and love it.
thought id add, the fans i am talking about are all floor fans, not the table top versions. ;)
google "industrial fans"... they have a retro look, and are relatively inexpensive
good luck!
bought a very similar one from good old home depot... very cheap!

try etsy or ebay...or thrift stores. You say yours quit working..have you tried lubricating the components?
Thanks so much everyone. I search restoration hardware and only ceiling fans came up.
Mikey1234: I worked on it a couple of times and saved it, but final it died.
