Q: Where can you order cribs online to Canada that are cute and reasonably priced? We don't care if it converts to a toddler bed but we do want non-toxic finishes and a safe company.

i had this issue too. What I did was i ordered online from an American site and had it shipped to a UPS store just across the border (free shipping within the US). I live in Ottawa/Gatineau (not sure what the closest border to you is) and the closest border is about 1.5 hours away in Ogdesnberg NY. I had the cribs shipped to the UPS store there, paid 5$/box to pick it up and then crossed back over the border and paid the taxes. Now because I am a QC resident I only paid 5% of the taxes because a federal border cannot charge HST to QC resident. All in all i saved roughly 600$ (the crib was much cheaper than anywhere in Canada, free shipping in the US, only 20$ in gas, and only 5% tax). Its worth it if you live close to a border.
I also live in Gatineau and I do the same thing as Tanya-Dolly all the time...for all sorts of things (strollers, toys, christmas presents).
Tanya - which crib did you buy?
I would suggest www.babyonthehip.ca and www.hellosunshine.com. Both are fabulous shops that carry environmentally conscious products.
I would use extreme caution when buying certain baby products across border, both ways, ie. cribs, strollers, car seats.... Safety Standards can vary, and may not be compliant in another countey, and warranties and recalls may not be valid.

Modern Karibou is a Canadian company and you might qualify for free shipping. The Century crib is Canadian made has a non toxic finish and is solid wood. But I wouldn't consider it all that affordable at 900.00. But maybe a place to start your search?
I don't know about buying online, but AP Industries is a Canadian company that makes cribs that are fairly affordable (500$ish), their finish are supposed to be non-toxic,they are made of solid wood, and they are sold across Canada.
I think this place delivers to Canada. I suppose you'd have to be careful about recalls and safety standards being somewhat different from Canada to the US, but it looks fairly reasonable, price-wise. http://www.wayfair.com/Baby-and-Kids-C45226.html
@ FuzzyWuzzy - I bought the Jenny Lind crib & changing table in Ebony. I know its not the eco-friendly style crib she is looking for but the ordering process is the same. :)
Ps. I too live in Gatineau! I said Ottawa because more people know where that is.
