Q: I've been obsessed with finding this table lamp after seeing Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 classic, The Birds, recently on cable. I have tried all word combinations on Google and came up with nothing, so I am leaving it up to fellow Apartment Therapy readers' good eye for classic design to lead to where I could find this goegeous lamp, or something very, very, very close to it.

I think you'll be hard press to just find the lamp. However keep an eye on ebay for "<ahref="http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=mid+century+teak+lamp&_sacat=See-All-Categories">mid century teak lamp" and you'll probably find something similar.
You're more likely to find a very similar lamp without the exterior shade. You could then purchase the exterior shade to add to it. Best of luck!
I found similar lamps on 1st dips searching under 1960's,50's, 40's wood table lamps and also "noguchi" since it is "in the style of". You could probably get a carpenter guy to make you the wooden pieces and then it looks like their is just a brass rod drilled through which a lighting place could do for you. I know it's hard to believe in these times but in some cases, wonderful pieces are long gone and it'll be like finding a needle in a haystack. Not impossible but difficult!!
there
Search e-Bay under "Danish Modern Lamp" - They're out there.
Here is something similar

Look on e-Bay, Etsy or any good vintage mid century modern sites, it was made by the company Modeline in the late 50s early 60s.

Wow, Marcellah! That's awesome. =)
Pretty cool. I wouldn't have been surprised if it'd been made custom by the set designer, but the internets prove useful once again!
found this on Mr.Modtomic's blog from a store called Peaches in New Orleans. somewhat similar:

The above link should take you to a PAIR of similar lamps.
Edward here and thanks a lot, everyone. I knew I could count on the AT community.
Marcellah, that is indeed next to best, unfortunately as smariel found out the seller is selling them as a pair for an eye-popping $7,200. I felt like I bust a wheel on the freeway after seeing that. Even if they were sold individually, it still would be a lot more than the top end of my budget.
I can in fact settle for an alternative and the ones linked are all very, very promising, and they kind of sparked some ideas on how I could achieve Annie's lamp. Apart from the base, I really like the effect of the sheer outer shade around the solid inner one. Here's another screen capture up close, for fellow admirers of the lamp.
Again, thanks to all who commented, now I know I won't forever be searching for it!
@marcellah you're good!
Love it now that I see the detail of the shade!
here's a quasi-similar lamp here in KC (and aprilheartsaaron is right, the Midwest is a GOLDMINE, so many people have no idea what they have and/or don't value it)
