Q: I have a Restoration Hardware Extension Mirror. One of the screws that holds the arms together has broken. Are there any suggestions as to where I could find a replacement screw in the Los Angeles area? Restoration suggested buying a new mirror.

Personally, I'd take the screw to a hardware store and see if they have something similar. If they don't, there may be someone that can point you in the right direction.
lol By the way, it made me laugh that Restoration would suggest buying a new mirror. It's a freaking screw - you should *definitely* be able to find something that works for you.
Go to ace hardware. Even if they don't have the exact screw, those guys will come up with a way to make it work.
Even if you couldn't live with one different screw, you could always just buy eleven and replace them all. Screws cost pennies, just make sure they're the same width and length.
they look like inner threaded rivets to me. So maybe you can ask for rivets in the hardware store. You can buy them on line at ace hardward, and there is a tool that sets them in, but I can't tell from the picture if its the right thing. It needs a in-person investigation.
try hansonrivet on line - they have a page of what kind of rivet you need. Maybe if you mail it to them, they will send you a bunch of them for $5.
They should have sent you a FREE replacement screw/rivet at the very least (and possibly a new mirror depending on it's age). Whatever happened to *customer service*? I'd call & inquire specifically about replacement parts. Barring that, take the broken screw/rivet to the hardware store with you & ask for help.
Get any nut & bolt within reason and get them electro plated
